ARNAU GRAN i ROMERO
Born in Catalonia in 2001, Arnau Gran i Romero is a composer whose practice draws on post-spectral approaches, gesture-driven processes, and a focus on textural fragility. He began his musical studies at the Conservatori de Girona before specializing in composition at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris. He holds a BA and MA in musicology and computer-assisted composition from Université Paris 8 and is currently a PhD researcher at the Centre de recherche Informatique et Création Musicale (CICM) within the European project Generative Spatial Sound Synthesis under the direction of Alain Bonardi and André Villa. His doctoral work focuses on unified operative representations of sonic spatiality. Parallel to his research, he studies composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de danse de Paris with Clara Iannotta, and new technologies applied to composition with Roque Rivas and Yan Maresz. His music explores gestural complexity, fragile textural states, and interactions between acoustic material and electronic processes. His works have been performed by ensembles such as the Ensemble intercontemporain, Ensemble L’Itinéraire, Ensemble Cairn, Ensemble TM+, and Ensemble 2e2m, and featured at several international festivals. His works are published by Éditions Lacroch’.
