Anne Sèdes is a composer and Professor in the Department of Music at the Université Paris 8. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on computer music science; instrumental, electroacoustic and mixed music; virtual environments and creation; spatialization of sound, music and cognition; and creation as a research activity, whether musical, organologic or software-based. As a composer, all her artistic productions are developed in experimental settings relating to research-creation.

Her previous projects include: ‘Création d’espaces sonores’ (ACI JC early career researcher grant, 2003-2006), ‘HD3D’ (Cap Digital, 2007-2010), ‘Virage’ (ANR national research council grant, 2009-2010), ‘HOA Library’ (Labex-Arts-H2H, 2012-2015), ‘Musicoll’ (ANR, 2016-2018), ‘corps infini’ (Labex Arts-H2H, 2016-2018), ‘écoute-expansion’ (MSH Paris Nord, KI-Productions 2019-2022).

Anne Sèdes was appointed Director of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris-Nord in 2019. From 2015 to 2018, she was joint head of the LABEX ArtH2H lab and EUR ArTeC research school. From 2006 to 2020, she co-lead AFIM (Association Francophone d’Informatique Musicale). Previous research activities include: editing the journal RFIM Revue Francophone d’informatique musicale, co-creating the MOOC ‘la musique au-delà du numérique’ with INA/GRM, and the So’culture public engagement project (Comue Paris Lumières, 2017-2021).
